New Course Launch

"Psoriasis in Practice" is offered as a distance learning web-based continuing professional development course for primary care nurses who are interested in expanding their chronic disease management knowledge to include psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.

Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis Education for Practice Nurses
Course Launches September 2012

Patient interviews, along with contributions from participants involved as case studies were filmed in 2010/2011 to augment the educational content of this e-learning module for practice nurses.

British Association of Dermatologists, London 21/22 May 2012

Home Phototherapy

Pilot study planned

Academic Dermatology are developing a home phototherapy Model of Care to be piloted in South Wales. Research to establish a cost-effective and safe model of care is underway in collaboration with the University of Glamorgan.

An important component of developing a model of care for home phototherapy in Wales will be strong patient advocacy. Commissioners are more likely to respond to patient pressure than requests for new services by Dermatology professionals.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Phototherapy and Dermatology Day Care Therapy in Primary Care
Pilot study planned

The provision of phototherapy and Dermatology day care for General Practice surgeries in isolated locations will be piloted in South Wales as part of an initiative by Professor Anstey and his team.
